Aria tematică include atât abordări teoretice, cât şi aplicate, pornind de la izvoare, privitoare la ierarhizarea lumii divine, percepţia asupra naturii divinităţilor, puterilor angelice şi demonice, unicitatea dumnezeirii, reprezentări în mentalul colectiv legate de ideea de moarte şi de mântuire, formule funerare de blestem şi de binecuvântare, tipologia epitetelor personale utilizate şi a relaţiilor sociale precizate în epitafurile funerare evreieşti şi păgâne, imaginea mesagerilor divini în literatura greco-romană, soteriologie şi eshatologie în cultele orientale, iudaism şi creştinism, metafora heliologică a dreptăţii, ierarhizarea lumii divine în lucrările Părinţilor Bisericii, imaginea morţii şi perspectiva asupra lumii de dincolo.
